Husbands arrested for selling their wives

Muzaffarnagar, Dec 17 (PTI) Two brothers have been arrested here for allegedly selling off their wives to fellow gamblers after losing a game, police said today. The accused Amis and Rahis Ahmad allegedly sold off their wives Shabana and Najma to fellow gamblers after they lost a game at Bilochpura village in the district.

The police arrested the brothers and filed a case after their wives lodged a complaint against their husbands and three others for misbehaving with them. "We have arrested the husbands and lodged a FIR against three others for misbehaving with the women," Additional Superintendent of Police SP Singh said, adding the trio is absconding.
